This is an alert signal from a real fire station. I tried to make a sound how they wanted it, and what i believe what was needed. Few things like 1) start softly to ease it when waking up in the night 2) some pauses for better recognition of speech or other signals heard same time 3) good cut trough background noise or whatever, stressless but good cut trough 3) limited length before announcement.

Thunderstorm, late night with rain falling on a quiet urban neighborhood side street of a large u. S. City. 4:30. The rain decreases over the recording. Good bits of distant thunder. Distant sirens in the last half of the recording. Some distant traffic noise, and a couple of cars passing close. I didn't notice until afterwards that i had the recorder set in mp3 format. Given another chance i'd redo as a 48/24 wav, but it doesn't rain all that often here, and the quality on this recording is still very good, 192kbps. Zoom h4n - mp3 - 44. 1/16.

This is a piece of an announcement made in japanese in the small town of kawaguchiko near mt. Fuji in japan, about a month after the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. The hotel staff told us the message said that, due to very good work of the people in rationing their power usage, there would be no power outage that night.

We watched the stephen hawking show on pbs last night as they tried to filter out voices from space and i thought this would make a good alien voice trying to contact us. Here is another night of that couple next door. They were active for around 25 minutes. Sounds like they had a really good night. The recorded audio of this was over two hours long and edit down to this length. Many of their conversations before they you know and after they finished were excluded out. At 2:32, sounds like the woman said "wanna go ahead,. . . "starting around at 3:45 was when they probably began to have their fun in bed, but there were still bits of soft chit chat between the couple. At 13:25 is when there are bits of moans coming from the woman. At 14:50 is when the rising action really begins. At 25:00 was when their fun was coming to an end, and you should be able to hear some of the noises from the guy. For those who just want the good parts of the audio: 13:25-25:56.

This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. I noticed one night my broken metallic glass screen door was making quite a ruckus in the wind. I grabbed my zoom h1 and a roll of duct tape and taped it to the interior portion of the door. I proceeded to record the semi-contact-mic results here in at 96 khz / 24 bit. Plenty of good stuff to pull from here, imo. Hope you can get some use out of this one. Enjoy.

Recorded this while going to the loo in a camping trip. The door was pretty creaky so i decided to record it because it could be a good sound effect. Of course i didn't have any equipment with me so the sound was recorded on my phone, which is why it's a bit echoey and shabby. A light thunderstorm in carrboro, nc. Not too much wind or heavy rain, but some very good thunder claps. As the thunder slowly fades away, some distant traffic and a siren can be heard. Recorded on a zoom h2. This was uploaded as vorbis instead of flac or wav because it's quite long but i thought people might find it useful to have the whole thing. Some intelligent de-clipping was also performed in audacity to remove some slight distortion from the loudest claps.

Mournful cows mooing in the night. These are my neighbor's pasture-raised cattle and they have a pretty good life but about this time every year he has to wean the calves. He separates the calves from their mothers. They are on opposite sides of a fence. The fence is a single electric wire. The mothers and their calves are inches from each other but not in the same field. It makes me so sad to hear them in such distress but they seem to get over it in a few days.

I decided to go out for the night so i thought it would be a good idea to have my sound recorder going for around 3 minutes. My ac turned on a little after. I caught a few things like fire truck sirens, and some sort of ear ringing sound. Not sure where that came from but it happened. A nice wet-themed ambiance of early spring in a small midwestern town in the us. The spring peepers dominate, always in the background. The american toads trill off and on (:38----1:04, 2:09-----2:31, 5:50----6:07, 6:25----6:40)there is also a distant dog bark, with echo at 3:31. Distant car horn at 3:57. Since this was recorded on a busy weeknight at 7pm, a lot of distant car doors and people picking up and dropping off kiddos for basketball practice, choir practice and other ancient extracurricular activities. There is a particularly good door open and slam and muted conversations at 6:43 to 6:56 and again at 7:17stereo recording made on thursday night march 29th, 2018 using a sound devices 702 and an audiotechnica bp4025 stereo microphone. The original was recorded at the very high sample rate of 196hz. Enjoy a town winding down and internalizing on a cold, drippy wet night in either very late winter, or very early spring.

Here's some more of that young couple next door. For this one, they probably went 15+ minutes. Their libido must be really high for this day/night. From my listening, it seems like they were not doing it in bed the entire time. They must have used other furniture and played around in different positions. From 3:30 or even before that is when they start. Passed 5:00 is when the woman starts to moan loud. 14:55 is when they finish. 16:07 guy says i'm tired. Note that the original audio had more bed and furniture creak noises, almost 30 mins long, and some of their chats cut out. Also note that some of the noises left in on the good parts may not be sex noises. This was edit and shorten with audacity.
